About Me
My name is Edel Razo and I am currently in my sophomore year at University of the Pacific. In my freshman year at Pacific I was an exploratory student so I focused entirely on my general education, until I was able to decide a major for my sophomore year. So now I am in my second year and I decided on being a graphic design major.
When I have free time I usually draw or play video games. However, currently I am trying to balance my college and work life as most of the time I work right after I get off of my classes.

Artist/Designer Bio
I have been interested in art ever since I was a kid. I have been drawing throughout my life, and more specifically, I feel that my interest in art grew throughout my highschool years. I joined my highschool's art club where I was able to do various art related activities and learn different techniques. Once the pandemic happened I was able to spend more time drawing and sketching. During this time I really focused on drawing faces from different perspectives, sketching objects, and just working on the compositional aspects of my art. Currently I like how I am learning more about the basic such as techniques used when drawing and what goes into making a good art design; such as color, form, composition, etc.

Artist Influence: Heikala
My artist influence is an artist by the name of Heikala. They are an artist and illustrator from Oulu, Finland, and they have a background/degree in graphic design from Lahti Institute of Design. They focus on creating art pieces traditionally either with inks, watercolor, or both. They also focus on selling a variety of media such as prints, art books, apparel, accessories, etc.
Heikala influences me as I love their illustration and general design of their art pieces. More specifically, I love the use of color and imagination in their pieces which make it look dreamlike. A lot of their pieces are trying to tell a story that the audience is given no context to, so it leaves a lot for the imagination. The colors are also very eye catching as they are vivid and bright. Overall, I believe their art is very inspirational and I think I can continue to motivate myself to pursue a career in the arts through their work.
